CIRCUMCISION

And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the Mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law (the written and the oral law), and commandments which I have written: that thou mayest teach them.

And Moses rose up, AND HIS MINISTER JOSHUA, and Moses (and Joshua) went up into the Mount of God.

And he said unto the elders, TARRY YE HERE FOR US, UNTIL WE COME AGAIN UNTO YOU, and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.

And Moses (and Joshua) went up into the Mount, and a Cloud covered the Mount.

And the Glory of the Lord abode upon Mount Si'nai and the Cloud covered it Six days: and the Seventh day He called unto Moses out of the midst of the Cloud.

And the sight of the Glory of the Lord was like devouring Fire on the top of the Mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

And Moses went up into the midst of the Cloud, and gat him up into the Mount: and Moses was in the Mount forty days and forty nights...(Exodus 24:12-18)...

And Moses turned, and went down from the Mount, and the Two Tables of the testimony (both the Literal and the Oral Law) were in his hand: the Tables were written on Both their sides, on the one side (the Lunar side of the Oracles) and on the other side (the Solar side of the Oracles) were they written.

And the Tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon tables...(Exodus 32:15,16).

And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

And he that is EIGHT DAYS old shall be circumcised among you, every Man child in your generations (understand the metaphor), he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought (redeemed) with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant...(Genesis 17:11-13).

_____________

And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof..

But every man's servant that is bought (redeemed) for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof.

In One House shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; NEITHER SHALL YE BREAK A BONE THEREOF.

All the congregation of Israel shall eat it.

And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his Males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land (the Body): for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof...(Exodus 12:43-48).

Purge ye out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. FOR EVEN CHRIST OUR PASSOVER IS SACRIFICED FOR US...(1 Corinthians 5:7,8).

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens (the meanings, and the meanings that are above them) is the Lord's thy God, the earth (the lower meanings) also, with all that therein is.

Only the Lord had delight in thy fathers to love them, and He chose THEIR SEED after them, even you above all people, AS IT IS THIS DAY.

CIRCUMCISE THEREFORE THE FORESKIN (the flesh) OF YOUR HEART, and be no more stiffnecked.

For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, mighty and terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward...(Deuteronomy 10:14-17).

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel, and with the House of Judah.

Not according to the (literal) covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith the Lord.

But this shall be the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people...(Jeremiah 31:31-33).

Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament, not of the Letter, but of the spirit, FOR THE LETTER KILLETH, BUT THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE.

But if the ministration of death, written and engraven IN STONES, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

How shall not the ministration of the spirit (the true meanings of the Law) be rather glorious...(2 Corinthians 3:6-18).

__________

That the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh (the literal meaning of things), but after the Spirit.

For they that are after the flesh (the outer, literal meaning of things) do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to (the higher meanings of) the Law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God...(Romans 8:4-8).

"Woe to those who see in the Law only simple narratives and ordinary words: were this really the case, then we could, even today, comprise a law equally worthy of admiration. But it is all quite otherwise...Every word of the Law contains an elevated sense and a sublime mystery...The narratives of the Law are but the raiment in which the (higher) Law is clothed. Woe unto him who mistakes the garment for the Law itself. It was to avert such a calamity that David prayed, "Open my eyes that I might behold wonderous things out of Thy Law" (Psalm 119:18). Another passage states similarly: "If the Law consisted of ordinary words and narratives like the stories of Esau, Hagar, and Laban, or like the words spoken by Balaam's ass or by Balaam himself, why should it have been called the Law of Truth, thy Perfect Law, the Faithful Testimony of God?" Introduction to the Zohar.

"The Rabbin speaks of the complete abolition of the commandments. This was interpreted by the Kabbalists to refer to the complete spiritualization of the Law under the dominion of the Tree of Life." Kabbalah, by Gershom Scholem, pp.166, 67.

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my fury come forth like Fire (again), and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings...(Jeremiah 4:4).

__________

For there is no respect of persons with God.

For as many have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified...

Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,

And knowest His will, and approveth the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law;

And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness...

(And yet you still do not know that) circumcision verily profiteth, (only) IF THOU KEEP THE (WHOLE) LAW; but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?

And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee, who by the Letter and Circumcision dost transgress the law?

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh.

But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the Letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God...(Romans 2:11-29).

__________

Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.

Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God (this is something).

Let every one abide in the same calling wherein they were called.

Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: (but if thou mayest be free, use it rather).

For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.

YE ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE; be not ye the servants of men...(1 Corinthians 6:18-23).

The 22 Pathways and 10 Sefirot of the Sacred Tree of Life

The androgynous soul emanates from the World Soul, is conceived in it's Mother's womb, at the navel of its own existence, and is born into the world (according to its own nature, either female or male) in the image of Heaven and Earth. As the spinal cortex begins to develop in the fetus, the Oracle (the guiding principles of Life) take form...

These are the dimensions of the Oracle (the Sacred Tree of Life), and, along with all other systems of tantric thought, they are directly related to the Seven primary levels of human consciousness. They are channels into and out of this realm, and connect the central points of interaction that exist between the individual soul, the outside world, and the invisible presence of God who inhabits all. (God is not invisible to those who can see Them). The soul's task, once it has entered into the mystery of Life, is to explore the darkness, that is to go down into the empire of its own existence, and to engage the lower thought forms (the enemy) and to overcome them wherever they are found. The soul must spend its entire lifetime bringing the faculties of the body and mind into subjection (into harmony with each other), and in the process illuminating or opening up the chakras to the light of higher reality. When the lowest chakra (centered in the Libidinal impulse) is subdued--brought under subjection, illuminated--the whole body is full of light, and the mystical union between the Mind of God, and the mind of the individual soul is completed. (Or rather can be completed with the proper alignment of concepts and right revelations.) The soul's descent into the lowest parts of its own existence is directly analogous in the interior world to the Holy Nation's descent on the historical plane to the lowest, most Western parts of the earth, as it is written: ...That they might be called Trees of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He and She might be glorified... (Isaiah 61:3). It is to fulfill the words, 'as above so below', On earth as it is in heaven.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the Crown of Life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

(Nevertheless, yielding to a legalistic, as well as dualistic point of view, and in the spirit of Shammai, James says): Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death...(James 1:12-18).

__________

For I delight in the law of God after the Inward Man:

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members...(Romans 7:22,23).

The Crown

The Projection of Power, Force, Self Will. It reaches upwards to the Navel (to Jerusalem...Psalm 48; 74:12-14). When not subdued (exposed as it is, thus seen for the force it possesses), it represents the power of anti-Christ in the earth. When brought under subjection and dedicated to TRUE LOVE, it becomes not only the source of Life (as the Sun to the Earth), but a means (one of two equal means) of every spiritual pleasure in the universe...

This is the book of the generations of ADAM. In the day (in the Garden of Eden 6,000 years ago) that God created MAN. In the likeness of God made he HIM.

MALE AND FEMALE created he THEM, AND CALLED THEIR NAME ADAM, in the day when they were created...(Genesis 5:1,2; Ephesians 4:13...KJV. Please see Chapter 5).

__________

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God...(2 Corinthians 7:1).

_______

I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be ye not conformed to this world (either politically of sexually): but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God...(Romans 12:1,2).

__________

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to wake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The Night is far spent, the Day is at hand, let us therefore cast off the works of Darkness, and let us put on the armour of Light...

(And) put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ (Hesus-Crishna), and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof...(Romans 13:11-14).

__________

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft (distinguished from Earth consciousness), hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith,

Meekness, Temperance, against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Let us not be desirous of vainglory, provoking one another, envying one another...(Galatians 5:16-26).

__________

This I say therefore and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

But ye have not so learned Christ.

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

AND BE YE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND;

That ye put on the New Man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness...(Ephesians 4:15-24).

And now we enter the arena of the true Spiritual Warrior

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds:

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, AND BRINGING INTO CAPTIVITY EVERY THOUGHT TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST.

And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when you (own) obedience is fulfilled...(2 Corinthians 1: 3-6).

The Two-handed form of Vishnu

"On the Field of Law, on Kuru's Field (the Holy Field of Kuruksetra), assembled and ready to fight, what did my people, O Sanjaya, and the Pandu host?"...(Bhagavad Gita 1:1).

"This Body, O son of Kunti, is spoken of as the Field (Ksetra), one who knows this, him the sages, who know the truth about both, call the Knower of the Field"...(Bhagavad Gita 13:1).

"But they whose Darkness is gone, who are workers of righteousness, free from the delusion of the opposites, worship Me, firm in their vows.

They who strive for freedom from age and death, taking refuge in Me. know the Eternal, the All, the highest Self, the perfect Work.

They who know me as the highest Being, the highest Divinity, the highest Sacrifice, even in death perceive Me, their hearts united to Me...(Bhagavad Gita 7:27-29).

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the Right Hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence and covetousness, which is idolatry:

For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them,

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Lie not one to another, seeing ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free, but Christ is all, and in all...(Colossians 3:1-11).

"Krsna, what is the mark of a God-realized soul, stable of mind and established in Samadhi (perfect tranquility of mind)? How does a man of stable mind speak? How he sits? How he walks?"

"Turbulent by nature, the senses even of a wise man, who is practicing self-control, forcibly carries away his mind."...(Bhagavad Gita 2:54-67).

"Arjuna said, O Krsna, This yoga in the form of equanamity, which you have taught, owing to restlessness of mind, I do not perceive its stability. For...the mind is very unsteady, turbulent, tenacious and powerful; therefore I consider it as difficult to control as the wind.

The mind is without doubt unsteady and difficult to curb, Arjuna, but it can be controlled through practice (of meditation) and dispassion...

...Yoga is difficult of achievement for one whose mind is not subdued: By him, however, who has the mind under control, and is ceaselessly striving, it can be easily attained through practice; such is my conviction."...(Bhagavad Gita 6:34-36).

"There is a spiritual significance to all of this, and the situation of Arjuna is well-chosen to bring out great spiritual truths. He stands for the personal self, beginning to grow conscious of the Higher Self; touched and enkindled with the spiritual Light of the Higher Self, yet full of dismay and terror from the realization of what obedience to the Higher Self must mean. The contest of brothers (the Higher and the Lower, Abel verses Cain, Christ vs anti-Christ) is now concentrated within a single nature, the life of a single man. A war must be waged within himself, a war long and arduous, for the life of the Soul. Nothing but high courage, joined with faith and aspiration, makes the contest possible. And even then there will be shrinking and dismay. Against the still, small voice of the soul are arrayed the strong forces of the material nature, the Passions, the Mind. These are the opposing brothers on the Field of the Law." Introduction to Book 6 of the Bhagavad Gita.

"The Hebrew word for 'paths' here is Netivot, a word that occurs only rarely in scripture. More common is the word Derekh. As the Zohar states, however, there is an important difference between these two words. A 'Derekh' is a public road, a route used by all people. A 'Nativ,' on the other hand, is a personal route, a path blazed by the individual for his personal use. It is a hidden path, without markers or signposts, which one must discover on his own, and tread by means of his own devices.

The 32 paths of Wisdom are therefore called 'Netivot.' They are private paths, which must be blazed by the individual. There is no open highway to the mysteries--each individual must discover his own path." Sefer Yetzirah In Theory and Practice, by Aryeh Kaplan, p.10.

__________

"The covenant of circumcision also represents the channeling of sexual energy. The sexual drive is one of the most powerful psychological forces in man, and when it is channeled along spiritual lines, it can help bring one to the highest mystical states. In giving the commandment of circumcision, God indicated that the emotions and desires associated with sex could be used for the mystical quest of the Divine on a transcendental plane.

"The juxtaposition between the 'circumcision of the tongue' and the 'circumcision of the membrum' explains the prophetic position favored by Elijah. The scripture states, 'Elijah went up to the top of the Carmel, entranced himself on the ground, and placed his face between his knees.' (1 Kings 18:42). This position was used for the intense concentration of spiritual energy. According to the Midrash, this position was used because it placed the head in conjunction with the mark of circumcision.

When one is in this position, all the forces are brought together. The ten fingers, ten toes, tongue and sexual organ comprise a total of 22 elements, paralleling the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The individual's body itself thus becomes an alphabet, with which he can 'write' in the spiritual realm." Kaplan, p.37.

Malachi, chapter 4...(KJV)

"The word for 'vision' here is Tzafiyah, which usually denotes a prophetical or mystical vision. The Hekhalot, and ancient mystical text which might be contemporary to Sefer Yetzirah, speaks of the 'vision' of the Merkava. The Merkava is the divine Chariot seen in Ezekiel's vision, and the term is used to denote the mystical experience on its highest levels.

The Sefer Yetzirah is now describing (in Chapter One) how the Sefirot appear in a mystical vision. In earlier sections, the text spoke of the exercises used to visualize the Sefirot, and now it describes their appearance.

The Bahir, another very ancient text, explains that the word Tzafiyah, derived from the root Tzafah, indicates that one is looking down from a high place. In the previous section, the Sefer Yetzirah spoke of the Sefirot as Ten 'depths.' When one looks into a depth, however, one is usually looking downward. In the Hekhalot, the mystical experience is often described as A DESCENT IN A DOWNWARD DIRECTION, and is often called 'DESCENDING TO THE MERKAVA.'

One reason why gazing at the Sefirot is called a 'descent' is because in order to accomplish this, one must first attain Hohkmah consciousness (Divine Wisdom), as discussed earlier. In the array of the Sefirot, however, Hohkmah is the highest, at least of those which are approachable. In climbing the Tree of 32 paths of Wisdom, one must begin by attaching himself to Hohkmah (Wisdom). When this is accomplished, one then looks down on the other Sefirot. Only then does one begin climbing the Sefirot, BEGINNING AT THE LOWEST." Kaplan, p.52.

"It is in this context that the Kabbalists advised those who were attempting to reach the highest levels to bind their soul with an oath that it should return to their body. Besides such individual oaths, there is also a general covenant that implies that the soul will be able to return, even from the highest levels.

In more general terms, a covenant is something that comes between two things and joins them. This is the covenant that joins the spiritual and the physical. In particular, as the Sefer Yetzirah states (1:3), a covenant denotes circumcision. One of the reasons for circumcision is to indicate that one should be able to control one's sexual passions. Communion with the spirit is also sexual in a sense, and the covenant of circumcision also helps to control this passion. A person who can control his sexual passions even at the height of desire, can also control his mind when it enters the spiritual realm." Kaplan,p.68.

"In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; AND THE HOUSE OF DAVID SHALL BE AS GOD, AS THE ANGEL OF THE LORD BEFORE THEM...(Zechariah 12:8).

"Out of this comes the Kabbalistic doctrine of the sexes, so much in advance of its time, in whatever Christian century we may elect to place the literature, namely, THAT MALE AND FEMALE SEPARATED ARE BUT AN INCOMPLETE HUMANITY, or, as the text expresses the idea, are but half the Body; that no blessing can rest on what is mutilated and defective; that no divided being can subsist for ever or receive an eternal dowry, 'FOR THE BEAUTY OF THE FEMALE IS COMPLETED BY THE BEAUTY OF THE MALE.' THE CONJUNCTION OF THE SUPERNAL MALE AND FEMALE IS SAID TO BE IN THE PLACE CALLED ZION AND JERUSALEM...

When the Bride is united to the King in the excellence of the Sabbath, then all things are made ONE BODY. And then the Most Holy God sitteth on His Throne, then all things enter and are integrated in the One Undivided, Perfect and Holy Name. When the Mother is united to the King, the worlds receive a blessing and are found in the joy of the Universe." The Holy Kabbalah, by A.E. Waite (The Lesser Holy Synod) pp.146, 47.

THE MYSTERY OF SEX

"...It may be remembered in this connection that the most cryptic of all texts in the Zohar--containing the mysteries of Divine Personalities--is called The Book of Concealment of of Modesty. These things being so, we may consider in the next place what is said on the subject of espousals, as these are known in the earth. (See Joel, chapter 2). There is one definition which is in the keeping with the Tradition at large, and this is that marriage is the Union of the Sacred Name here below--that is, its completion in each person. The thesis appertaining hereto is that circumcision is the symbol of all purity in sexual intercourse; that Israel is placed on this account in purity as a starting point and enters under the wings of Shekinah. (continued)....

...The sacred sign of the Covenant constitutes the root-matter of the Sacred Name and of the Mystery of Faith. As the Sun enlightens the world, so the sacred sign enlightens the Body...But as the advantage is greater with which the children of Israel begin their earthly life, so is the responsibility greater if they make the Covenant of no effect in their own persons.

Now the Sacred Name is never (completely) attached to an incomplete man, being one who is unmarried or one who dies without issue. Such a person does not penetrate after death into the vestibule of Paradise on account of his incompleteness. (There is, of course, much room for discussion and greater understanding in these matters). He is like a tree that is rooted up, and he must be planted anew--that is to say, he must suffer rebirth, as we have seen, in order that the Sacred Name may be completed in all directions. (A holy Soul, truly celibate in this life, can experience this rebirth on the other side, and there discover, and find solace and completion in their own true soul mate). The command to increase and multiply, which means the procreation and engendering of children (I have begotten thee in the Word...Paul), is to spread the radiance of the Sacred Name in every direction, by collecting spirits and souls which constitute the glory of the Holy One--above and below. Whoever fails to apply himself to the fulfillment of this command diminishes the figure of his Master and prevents its descending here below. The last statement refers ofcourse to the making of man, male and female, in the likeness of Elohim...God blessed Adam because they were made together Male and Female, and blessings (revelation) are found only where Male and Female are united for the fulfillment of the purpose of creation, which--according to the counsel of the Elohim--was to increase, multiply and replenish the earth...It may be even that the Zoharic legend concerning male and female being originally side by side is only a veiled way of indicating that they were not yet in the marital estate. AFTERWARDS THEY WERE FACE TO FACE, SIGNIFYING THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PRECEPT." The Holy Kabbalah, A. E. Waite, pp.377-79.

And there will I meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the Mercy Seat, FROM BETWEEN THE TWO CHERUBIMS WHICH ARE UPON THE ARK OF THE TESTIMONY...(Exodus 25:10-22).
